It's possible to make such good, tolerant, loyal friends here, even if one doesn't necessarily wrestle all of them.

I want to encourage those who LURK amongst us, often for YEARS without a single meeting. Maybe we chatted for a while, so we still see you log in - sometimes quite frequently (I have one young London guy in mind).

(Watchfighters is probably where you need to be: plenty to see there, often without commitment.)

I do believe TOLERANCE is a hallmark of Meetfighters, so just urge any lurkers who might need a "push" to give it a try. Set up a meeting. Prepare carefully, keep safe ... but DO take the next step! Do it - and have fun. Good luck!

Part of the problem is that so many of the regulars here step out of the realm of wrestling. I hope everyone states what you want and expect before meeting, not right before or moments before hitting the mats. A lot of people don't want the kink. Or might consider that aspect at a future date. Looking in the main meetfighters chat, I also see songs or videos posted there. I think that detracts from the purpose of the site. Some people just want pictures, but don't want to send them. Some people have a lot of dick pics. While you can send emails and chat, some people just aren't that communicative. So, I can see people lurking on the site. More so if one doesn't live in a major metropolitan area.

This is really giving a heads up to all thanks for encouraging but i’m not a lurker actually i’m still finding and waiting for an opponent who are legit and SAFE to wrestle it takes so much long getting to know each other and decision making still a lot of explanations and questions to be answered it really needs a consistency and reassurance before setting up a fight and carefully discussing details about knowing them and meeting up i just need to choose careful and never assume always asking for an agreement! :)

There was some interesting research put out in early 2023 that described how "Social media as we’ve known it seems to be in its dying days – with one notable exception, Tiktok. Engagement rates declined on Instagram for the third straight year but have held pretty steady for Facebook and Twitter. And post frequency was flat on Instagram but took a ~20% dive on Facebook and Twitter."

I interpret that to mean that genuinely passive platforms like TikTok, where one can just sit slack-jawed and scroll video after video, are where it's at these days. And there's probably nothing wrong with that. At least from a user's perspective.

But if you are on the other side - trying to generate connection or engagement - you definitely have more of a challenge now. Perhaps it's best to just be satisfied with the connections you have made, dear Ed, and continue as you always do to appreciate the platform's great benefits.

Everything is always changing, in a state of flux. People on that constant search for something fresh. MySpace was huge and people loved it. Then it got replaced by something new. People loved Twitter. After its change in ownership many people moved on. People may be less fascinated by or addicted to social media but it will be here forever in one form or another.

1590 current members have been on site for 5 years or longer with no matches listed. Could be personal choice, impossible logistics, or perhaps their one attempt at a match turned out to be a huge mistake.
