Growing pains
Is it common around here to be a half-dozen hours into a conversation, be mere steps away from securing and agreeing on RL accomodations and logistics, and then find yourself blocked by the other fighter? I'm aware that I'm new but is that a thing here?
Update: I got curious and emailed asking if I had done something wrong, and got a curt "No. It's my choice to end contact." in reply.

2016-07-21 17:26Sadly, it happens. It's upsetting and inexplicable to be suddenly blocked without warning and one can only shake one's head sadly at the lack of good manners. After all, it doesn't take much effort to send a polite refusal - especially after a promising and enjoyable exchange of messages.
Walk away sadly, Mystic Wolf, and good luck finding worthier, politer opponents. There plenty of them here!

Edscissors is right. Thankfully, no, it's not common. Sadly, yes, it does happen. There's something about social media that means that some people neglect basic courtesies. But no, most guys can string a sentence together, even if it's to say "No thank you" (which, obviously, they're fully entitled to).

2016-07-24 08:59While the majority of people are decent, there are those who don't seem to have common sense or even manners. Don't let them rain on your parade. Both of the other comments are correct. Just pick up and start over. You will, in the long run, have a lot of fun here.

2016-07-24 18:56Totally agree with the previous comments. Yeah, it sucks, because they really do get your hopes up, especially starting out on this (or any other) site, or men's app on the phone. Fuck 'em. There are plenty of polite, great guys here who will chat, even if there is no way you will ever meet (I'm very popular in Argentina for some reason). Take your time, you're gonna meet up with some great guys.

2016-07-27 15:26Well I once got blocked for having the cheek to look at someone's profile . Thankfully it was before i had even posted a pic so I didn't have to worry it was because I look like an ork but there are only a few times in thousands of messages when someone has been a prat so don't be put off, met and spoken to loads of lovely guys here

2016-11-01 15:31Unfortunately and very frustrating.... Guys seem to do that with me also. We have great conversations and when it comes time to meet....either they stop talking and responding or they cancel at the last minute! Thankfully there are exceptions and I have met some very nice guys on here.

2018-04-08 20:53Game player---gets his rocks off that way. He's like the Peanuts comic strip where Lucy bitch pulls the football away as Charlie Brown goes to kick the ball–and he goes ass over head. Kind of guy you hope he does it to the wrong guy, who runs into him into a dark alley the next night in a real bad, brawling mood.

2022-06-02 22:31This really sucks. I never block anyone. If not interested, I just say we are not a match and wish all the best at finding what that person is into. I think it's more civilized? And conversation is always good, I learn about the world and people around me from it.
