20240221 - JUST SOME MEANDERINGS
Earlier today there was news published on here about David O’Connor’s passing. It hit me hard…one of the best and kindest wrestlers on here…gone too young and definitely too soon. I had a visit and a wrestle with him in the UK many years ago and he made an impression, a very good impression. A man such as David crosses another man’s path only very rarely. This was just such a man and I’m grateful to have met and known, albeit only slightly, and wrestle this pillar of a man. We will miss you dearly.
We also lost Gingerman not too long ago…another wonderful guy…miss you a lot, Jim

2024-02-21 09:44Hey fella, I like you am reading about Dave, The Enigma, we spoke regularly over the past few years on here. He said he wanted me on the mat or ring to show me how a real man can punish his apponant. I trash talked him an him me. We were going to meet for the first time in spring and to find out that this man of men has passed away has knocked me off my feet. I find it so strange that someone I had not met became a person of meaning in my meetfighters life.
I like the hard man wrestler the old school and Dave opitimised that.
I will forever regret not wrestling him and if his up there arranging some meets , I just wanna say , I hope he sends some guys like him my way to challenge me, R I P Dave.

Thanks for your kind remarks …we never know when our last breath will be but advice I give folks frequently is ‘life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death…so live live live ‘. Advice from auntie Mame Dennis to her nephew Patrick in the wonderful novel Auntie Mame.

2024-02-21 18:28I wondered why I hadn't read anything new from Gingerman in some time. I always enjoyed reading his comments. He always put so much thought into them. It showed how much he cared.

2024-02-27 09:00How sad and ironic that the day I join this network I read of the passing of Dave O’Connor. He was one of my first opponents and I’m pretty sure he was the first guy I went into the ring with. I remember he struck me as surly but kindly, asking after every move and hold if I was ok. We kept in touch but infrequently so this has come as a surprise. Very sad news and my condolences to all those who new and cared about him.
