Introduktion

29 year old active Jiu Jitsu practitioner, currently repping a Blue belt. Fighting Gi & NoGi. Wrestled Varsity in HS at 152lb.

I fluctuate often but my default weight now is around 220lb, with a goal of getting up to 230lb. I pack on a good amount of muscle, but you’ll never see me with a 6-pack and that’s by choice. Id much rather maintain a beefy dad-bod physique than going back to being a lightweight.

I’d prefer to only wrestle/roll/grapple with heavyweights. I already roll with enough smaller guys when I train at my BJJ gym, where I either get them in full mount and just dominate them or they wear me down with better stamina…so I’d prefer to slow it down with some bigger boys that can match my strength & that won’t wear me out cardio wise so we can just focus on technique.

Ive trained IRL in all the different types of clothing respective to each sport (Singlet, Gi, NoGi) and I’ve also rolled with buddies in nothing but boxer briefs. We always joke around in BJJ about what both options would be most similar to in an actual street fight - saying that fighting a dude in a Gi is like fighting a man in a suit, and fighting a dude NoGi is like fighting a naked dude!

So it got me curious about what it would be like to roll or grapple with another guy in nothing but our birthday suits- just like the ancient Greeks intended it to be fought. The first Olympics were all performed without clothes, and it seems like the only reason I’ve been able to find as to why they started covering themselves up is because of shifting views towards modesty at the time…NOTHING to do with practicality. There was probably a whole set of advantages that came with not giving your opponent anything to grip, or no friction slowing you down when trying to escape, nothing for your hand or foot to get caught in by accident (unlike a Gi lapel).

So if you’re a bigger-sized dude, are open to either BJJ or wrestling (or a combination of them both), hit me up!
