I was liftes this weekend, picked me up in kind of a bearhug as I was sittinf on the bed then moved his hands to my underarms and straight up I went! Then tossed me down on the bed. Love feeling his power, and I’m 200 pounds!
Armpit lift is definitely easier than overhead. Done it a few times. 140 lbs they don’t need to be hugely strong but it’s more difficult than fireman’s or piggy back.
I haven't seen that manny videos or pictures of this lift and was wondering if its harder than an overhead? Basically the lifter grabs the lifte under their armpits or waist area and hoists the lifted up as high as they can. what muscles are you working most when doing this lift and how strong does someone need to be to do it to someone 140lbs?
The armpit lift requires biceps (and some anterior deltoid), an impressive looking, but relatively weak muscle. The overhead press uses the much stronger triceps muscle along with shoulders and upper chest. Additionally, there's also a great deal of leverage that can be used.

Yes it is easier because you don't have to balance the guy like in an overhead. On the shoulder lifts include the legs which makes those easier.
