Who are glove collectors - besides practical users?

I have purchased way too many boxing gloves in my time...but most of them were for boxing/sparring vs. collecting. In rough order of purchase:

1 set (2 pairs) of 14oz Everlast lace-up gloves
Sparred with many guys for about 15 years..sold em off on Ebay

1 set of 18oz Ringside Velcro/elastic lace cover gloves
Sparred with a lot of guys for about 10 years,, sold em on Ebay

1 pair of Ringside Ultimate 16oz Velcro/elastic lace cover gloves
Have used them for sparring for 20 years..still safe/still good

1 pair of Ringside Intetnational 16oz Velcro/elastic lace cover gloves
Have used them for sparring for 15 years..still safe/still good

1 pair of Tuf-Wear 20oz lace-up sparring gloves
Looked great, always caused thumb problemes for me..sold on Ebay

1 pair of Tuf-Wear 14oz lace-up sparring gloves
Great fit, no thumb problems, have sparred in them for 15 years

1 pair of Rival 18oz lace-up sparring gloves
Best fitting/most wrist support of all my gloves, 7 years of sparring

1 pair of Ringside 16oz speed lace-up sparring gloves
Almost as good as the Rivals, years of sparring

1 pair of Grant 14oz lace-up sparring gloves
So-sot, too big for my small hands..had for 15 years

Glove fit & feel is very individual & selective, the best looking gloves are often not the ones that fit your hands best. I'm not a collector, so I've sold any gloves (except the 14oz Grants) that don't fit my small hands closely.

Mitch

Good tools, good reasons to get rid of the bad matches.

[When much younger and healthier - I always bought 2 pairs to have someone to box with. My earliest buys were sometimes my mistakes. I have owned 12, 16, 18 and 20 ounce glove sets. Never bag gloves but briefly used Everlast “oven mitt” bag gloves - years ago. I have bought gloves from Ringside, Century and Budomart in later years but in my youth - bought local sporting goods and discount house gloves.]

Do you collect just single pairs for yourself or two pairs to have to spar with someone?

Do you have muy Thai and regular boxing gloves?
Ever tried mma glovelets?

Do you have professional grade sparring, training and bag gloves?

(I used to know a guy who sparred in pro gloves but liked to backyard fight guys in the cheapest Everlast or discount outlet adult boxing gloves. Glove weights often unknown. He said, like boxing bare-knuckle but with hand blistering protection. And no - I stayed away from him in the day...).

Are you a “country snob” on the gloves which you own - regarding where they were made?
For instance Japanese, Korean, Indian, Pakistan, British or German made gloves?
To my knowledge - there are no current US made gloves. Though many are customized for US dealers like Ringside.
Correct me if wrong.

Does anyone have older design heavy glove weight Russian sparring gloves?
They come up on Etsy - of all places!

Do you always buy new or have you bought clean-up used gloves from a gym, FaceBook MarketPlace, a friend or off eBay?

How often have you bought pro gloves through Amazon?
Ali Baba has dubious quality faux pro gloves for sale - but would be curious about Chinese-made gloves - if any of you have bought some.

Do you collect and occasionally use older horse-hair padded gloves from 30-60 years ago - if the right weight for your needs?

Just curious to see what we all accumulate in our gear closets...
