Hi,

For what little it’s wirth, I am in entire agreement with you.

There are a whole load of timewasters and this side of the pond too.

Your comments are clearly stated in your bio and that’s great. It can’t then be a “surprise” to others when they meet you.

Sadly, it seems some guys don’t get it and block you for asking for the most basic things. Like you, I always ask for a face pic.

Sending you good wishes from this side of the Atlantic.

Respect and happy fighting! 😀

I see Biker is having the same problem. I still think this site is the best for discouraging this.

ikf is totally correct there!

I have exactly the same problem running speedo-wrestlers. If all the enquiries I get turned into actual club wrestlers we'd have hundreds on the mats!!!

A lot of it comes down to confidence and being sexually-excited at the time they make initial contact. They are typing with one hand on the keyboard and one hand elsewhere.

Once they have 'unloaded' the excitement they then lose further interest.

Other guys are just very nervous of meeting new people and being "worried about making a fool of themselves". They think everybody else who wrestles is a total expert and they never will be.

Their anxiety constantly gets the better of them and they never really make it in the end.

My experience has been that with the confidence guys when they do eventually reach the mats and wrestle at our club they are usually relieved and so pleased they have finally done it. Some go on to be good wrestlers.

My experience with the sexual guys is that when they actually experience the rough and tumble of wrestling they either love it totally or they just never come back. Too often the latter as the fantasy fails to match the reality.

I think one kind of timewaster is a person who wants to fight, but for some reason cannot actually get into it - they want, but they can't.

So I tend to encourage them to get into fighting, to go out and start training, to go out and find fighting partners, etc. If they show promise, I tend to spend more time enouraging them. If not, I cut it short with something like "get back to me about how your training goes" or "I'd be open to giving training advice if you started training".

I have a small number of guys who, after only longing after it for meny years, actually took up fighting and started to train and/or go out and find matches.

It is as they say, "Idle hands are the devil's workshop". Basically, these people have too much time on their hands and no constructive way of spending it. Unfortunately, people who actually do have a life and duties can never match the amount of time the wasters have, the best you can do is cut your losses at one point.

Sometimes it's just nuisance, but it can also be dangerous. There's a guy who had the dubious distinction of being one of the only two people I have banished from AllFighters. Apparently now his using his enormous free time that he has previously spent harassing our members threatening me with legal action unless I unban him. Other than the fact that this constitutes blackmail, and as such is a felony punishable by 1-5 years jail time in my jurisdiction, dealing with this takes time I could devote to things like, I don't know, actually improving this site. Sites ran by corporations have a legal department to deal with these issues, but I don't.

No names please, I don't want this to descend into a slanging match.
